Put your CSR budget where the need is loudest.

Every day, KAW feeds 256 animals at its Kapashera sanctuary and more than 200 street dogs across Delhi-NCR. Your company can fund the meals, the surgeries and the ambulance runs — and walk away with the 80G, the impact reports and the visibility to prove it.

Does animal welfare count as CSR under the Companies Act?

Yes. Schedule VII, clause (iv) of the Companies Act, 2013 lists “animal welfare” as a permitted CSR activity, alongside protection of flora and fauna and environmental sustainability. So a company covered by Section 135 can route its mandatory 2% CSR spend to an animal-welfare NGO like KAW without any grey area.

That matters, because most CSR committees default to education and health. Animals get overlooked. But street-dog welfare sits at the intersection of public health, rabies control and community safety — it’s an easy story to defend to your board, and a rare one that still feels personal to employees. KAW has run this work in Delhi-NCR for 11+ years, since 2015. We know how a corporate CSR partnership actually needs to be documented, not just felt.

What can your company fund?

Programme What your funding does Good fit for
Sanctuary meals Feeds resident and street animals daily at Kapashera Recurring monthly CSR; sponsor-a-meal drives
Mobile vet & spay/neuter drives Sterilisation and vaccination camps that cut the stray population humanely ESG / public-health mandates
Ambulance & rescue Runs the 24x7 rescue line and emergency pickups for injured strays One-time capital or annual grant
Employee volunteering days Sanctuary visits, feeding, adoption-fair support for your teams Employee engagement animal charity programmes
Cause marketing Co-branded campaigns, round-up-at-checkout, matched giving Consumer brands wanting visible impact
Not sure which fits? We’ll shape a plan around your Section 135 CSR spend and reporting calendar — some partners fund one programme end to end, others split across two.

What does your company get back?

A CSR partnership should close cleanly for your finance and compliance teams. Here’s what we hand over.

Compliance documents. KAW is a registered Section 8 non-profit with 12A and 80G, plus US 501(c)(3) status for overseas entities. We provide our 80G certificate and Form CSR-1 registration details — the MCA registration every agency must hold to legally receive CSR funds — so your audit file is complete.

Impact reporting. You get a written report tied to your programme: animals fed, surgeries done, rescues logged, photos from the ground. Real numbers your CSR disclosure can cite.

Brand visibility and media. KAW’s ambassadors have appeared on Animal Planet, and the organisation has featured on DD National and NewsX. Partners can be credited across campaigns and channels.

Site visits. Bring your leadership or your team to Kapashera. Seeing 256 rescued animals up close does more for internal buy-in than any slide.
