Delhi’s summer doesn’t just feel harsh — it becomes deadly for stray dogs.
No water. No shade. Nowhere to escape the rising heat.
Dehydration and heatstroke can take their lives in hours.
What they need is simple — water, shade, and a chance to survive.
What they need… is you.
For stray and rescued dogs, summer is not just uncomfortable — it’s life-threatening.
Many collapse from heat exhaustion, searching endlessly for water that doesn’t exist.
At Kannan Animal Welfare (KAW), we place water bowls across streets, refill them daily, install coolers, and create safer, cooler shelter spaces.
Because survival shouldn’t depend on chance.
With your support, it won’t have to.
Heer’s Journey
When Heer came to us, her body was covered with lumps and she was in a very fragile condition. She needed immediate care and treatment. With proper medical support, patience, and lots of love, Heer slowly started recovering.
Today, she is healthy, safe, and lives happily with us, enjoying a life filled with comfort and care.
Kismat’s Journey
Kismat was found with a huge tumor on her jaw and was in a very painful condition. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor and is currently undergoing treatment and chemotherapy.
With proper medical care, patience, and lots of love, Kismat has been recovering and is doing much better now. We continue to support her and hope she keeps getting stronger every day.
In extreme heat, dogs can suffer heatstroke within hours.
Water and shade aren’t acts of kindness — they are what keep them alive
