Maya Dragged Herself to Safety — Now She Needs Us
After being hit and left with a severely damaged leg, Maya now needs urgent amputation surgery and post-operative care to live a pain-free life.
Maya’s story is one of incredible resilience and survival.
She was reported to us by villagers after she somehow managed to drag herself to a nearby house despite being in excruciating pain. Injured, exhausted, and terrified, Maya kept moving until she reached a place where someone might notice her suffering and help her.
When our rescue team brought her in for examination, the reality was heartbreaking. One of her legs was severely fractured, infected, and had begun to rot. The damage was so extensive that the limb was partially detached and hanging from her body.
After a thorough veterinary assessment, it became clear that the leg cannot be saved. The only way to end Maya’s pain and give her a chance at a normal life is through urgent amputation surgery.
The good news is that dogs adapt remarkably well after amputation. With proper medical care, rehabilitation, and time to heal, Maya can go on to live a happy, active, and pain-free life.
We are raising ₹40,000 to cover Maya’s surgery, hospitalization, medications, rehabilitation, and post-operative care.
