A Tiny Soul in Unimaginable Pain
Zuri arrived at the KAW Treatment Centre in an extremely critical and painful condition.
Her right eye had completely come out and was severely injured. For such a tiny little girl, the pain and distress she had been enduring were heartbreaking.
Our veterinary team immediately started emergency treatment, medication and pain management to stabilise her and make her as comfortable as possible.
After assessing the extent of the injury, it became clear that Zuri’s damaged eye could not be saved. Continuing with the injured eye would only prolong her pain and increase the risk of further complications.
The decision was therefore made to surgically remove the eye.
Zuri has now successfully undergone her eye removal surgery, and we are relieved to share that she is recovering well. ❤️🩹
Her surgery may be over, but her treatment is not.
Zuri continues to require medication, pain management, wound care, veterinary monitoring and supportive care while her surgical site heals.
For such a tiny little girl, she has already endured so much.
But losing an eye does not mean losing the chance at a beautiful life. Once she has recovered, Zuri can adapt and go on to live a happy, comfortable and pain-free life.
