She Has Suffered for Far Too Long
When Shakti came to us, the sheer size of the growth on her body told a heartbreaking story. It had clearly been developing for a very long time, yet she had been left to live with it without the medical intervention she desperately needed.
Her initial investigations brought further concerns. Shakti’s kidney values were elevated and her haemoglobin was low, making a major surgery extremely risky.
We initially hoped to stabilize her further before putting her through such an invasive procedure. But we have now reached a point where waiting carries an even greater riskโthe growth has become life-threatening, and surgery can no longer be postponed.
After an extensive search, we have finally found an experienced equine specialist who will perform Shakti’s surgery at KAW.
The surgery itself is only the beginning. Shakti faces a long and rigorous recovery involving specialist supervision, chemotherapy injections, medication, wound management, and twice-weekly post-operative visits.
We know this will not be an easy journey. But after everything Shakti has endured, we want to give her every possible chance to surviveโand finally know what it feels like to live somewhere safe, peaceful, and loved.
